About
My photograph might lead you to believe that I use a red pen and circle errors in punctuation, imagining that each error means the future is dire. However, the truth is I don't use a red pen. I also don't think the future is dire.
I do like punctuation; I think it is sexy. For example, in that sentence I just wrote, I like the semicolon. It tells me that both sides of the sentence are equal, enjoying a "mutual" relationship. (I could use sexier language here about mutuality, but I will leave that be, for the moment.) That sentence could have been written: "However, I should say, I do like punctuation. In fact, I think punctuation is sexy." Those two sentences are interesting, but they put the focus on me and my tastes. I like the focus in the other sentence, where the punctuation is highlighted.
One day I will change my photo and I will have something different to say about myself.
Until then,
I am Cayo, with punctuation, in hand.
